LOGISITCS.
Berrang Inc. is a US Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ). Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) status allows manufacturers in the U.S. to defer or eliminate customs duties on imported goods, which can significantly reduce costs. Additionally, FTZs provide logistical benefits, such as streamlined customs procedures and the ability to store goods without incurring duties until they enter the U.S. market.

Duty Deferral and Elimination
• Deferred Duties: Manufacturers can defer customs duties on imported goods until they are transferred out of the FTZ for U.S. consumption.
• Elimination of Duties: No duties are paid on foreign merchandise that is exported directly from the FTZ.

Logistical Advantages
• Streamlined Customs Procedures: FTZs allow for simplified customs processes, reducing administrative burdens and speeding up the movement of goods.
• Storage Flexibility: Goods can be stored in an FTZ without incurring duties until they enter the U.S. market, providing manufacturers with better cash flow management.
Cost Savings
• Inverted Tariff Relief: FTZs help mitigate the impact of inverted tariffs, where parts imported for manufacturing are taxed at a higher rate than the finished products.
• Reduced Inventory Costs: Merchandise processing fees can be reduced, and inventory taxes are deferred until goods are moved into U.S. commerce.

Enhanced Operational Capabilities
• Manufacturing and Processing: FTZs allow for various activities, including assembly, processing, and repackaging, which can lead to lower duty rates on finished products.
• Handling Damaged Goods: Manufacturers can inspect, repair, or destroy damaged items within the FTZ without incurring import duties.
Economic Impact
• Job Creation: FTZs contribute to job creation and retention, supporting local economies by enabling manufacturers to maintain operations in the U.S. rather than relocating overseas.
